Temporary pause on invoicing and payments

As we transition to the new National Environmental Protection Agency (National EPA) on 1 July 2026, and to support end‑of‑financial‑year processes, there will be a temporary pause on invoicing and payment activity from:

 

4:00 pm Friday 26 June to 9:00 am Friday 31 July 2026

 

During this period:

  • You will not be able to make payments for EPBC projects.

  • The department will not issue invoices.

  • You may continue to submit referral applications; however:

    • invoices will not be issued until after 9:00 am Friday 31 July 2026

    • required publications will only occur once payment has been received

  • The department will continue assessing applications and progressing projects during this time.

We appreciate your understanding and look forward to continuing to work with you under the National EPA.

Please note, only one document can be uploaded per submission. The size limit of the file must not exceed 10MB.

The agency is currently completing updates to projects and information that displays on this Portal. Over the next week you may see project status fields update for some projects. Please contact your agency point of contact should you need any assistance.
