EPBC Portal Updates

The Department is currently undergoing an ICT network transition. EPBC Business Portal and Public Portal users are requested to take note of the following information and action accordingly:
  1. The website addresses have changed. It is recommended that users update any bookmarks and favorites on their browser(s) accordingly.
  2. Existing users are advised to authenticate themselves post network transition by logging into the portal at least once between Monday 28 October and Friday 13 December 2024. Failure to do so will require signing up again as a new user, using the same email address previously used for registration.

Further instructions will be communicated to users via email as needed.

The Minister invites public comment for each referral regarding whether the proposed action is a controlled action. Under section 74(3) of the EPBC Act, proposed actions are open for comment for 10 business days. Guidance on how to make a public comment is available at Public comments and decisions on actions referred under the EPBC Act - DCCEEW.

The EPBC Public Portal is best viewed through a desktop, laptop or tablet.  If you wish to make a comment using a mobile device go to Open for Comments. Please note, only one document can be uploaded per submission. The size limit of the file must not exceed 10MB.

Please note the following regarding the upcoming Christmas/New Year period for 2024/25:
The Department will be closed between 25 December 2024 and Wednesday 1 January 2025. Any referral applications found valid under the EPBC Act between Monday 9 December and Tuesday 24 December 2024 will be published after the Department resumes operations on Thursday 2 January 2025.
